LaQuita, I had the chance to read your first book Turns of Life and it is GREAT. In the midst of reading it behooved me that you are a new urban author. The package made me feel that you have been on the scene a long time beside Ashley & Jaquavis, Nikki Turner, Kiki Swenson and others. Yes, you ARE a best-selling author! Diamond in the rough, sparkling bright

Wow what can I say, a street tale at it's best! This was some real gangsta ish (lol). Truly I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. That Troy was something else, he isn't one to be played with, he would screw you over in a heartbeat with no questions asked. Remind me of the movie New Jack City mixed with a little Boyz in the Hood! I enjoyed Porter's character a little on the (Gee Money) side of the game, but not quite (Nino Brown) as Troy. The girls Monae and Yvette was a great mix, although I would love to see the outcome between Porter and Monae. Jazmina was another character that I liked, she to was ruthless giving Papi a dose of his own medicine.

I will not give the book away with spoilers because there was so many characters to mention and twist and turns that kept me intrigued. This was defiantly a page turner and one I would recommend. Now I'll be waiting on the second installment of this book :)

I couldn't put this book down. My favorite character is Porter. I can't WAIT to see what happens between him and Monae in the next book.

  5. Ruthless and Revenge August 19, 2014

This book is that down South gritty mixed with that Chicago gangsta hood drama. The characters were scandalous and vindictive. I was rooting for Jazimina but I guess I have to roll with Deon now. Troy is psychotic and ruthless and would slaughter his Mom on Christmas if need be. I enjoyed this book and and it was a hood tale with all the right ingredient of lust , power, sex, and revenge. Truly worth the read and I can't wait until Part 2 drops.

5.0 out of 5 stars And the games have definitely begun! September 4, 2014

Halfway through the book, I found myself thinking "this was it. This has to be the end of the book." There was nothing else that could take place. But boy was I wrong. This could've been your average street tale had the creative author not included curveballs & unexpected twists in the mix. I was very surprised to see that this is just part 1 of a 3 part series as it felt as if I was reading an entire series. Full of lies, murder, drugs & more, this story will captivate the reader's attention from beginning to end.
