Except:
“Since I started
putting in work. You dudes out here playing while I'm paper chasing. This little
punk came in our neighborhood trying to ask me to pay $75 for a half of
marijuana, so I robbed his ass. Told him to get the hell out of my face with
that; and that I would bring him $45 when I made the money off it.” Zipp admits.
“Man just because your pops Nate is a police officer doesn't mean you can buck the system. You can't be doing
people like that, because everybody is not going to just let you get over on them. Zipp you are crazy!” Brian points out.
“Well when you
have a gun to your face, I bet you will agree to the terms being given like this
guy did.” Zipp says pulling his chrome .22 revolver from his waist. He holds it
up to show them his new choice of weapon.
“Boy your daddy must
have bought you that. Let me see it. And you better believe if anybody points a
gun at me, I will agree to all terms.” Brian says.
“Yeah that’s because
you are a little scary ass punk. A gun that small wont make me do shit; but a
gun like this will.” Jacob says opening his glove compartment revealing a black Smith and Wesson .45 caliber handgun. Zipp takes it out passing his .22 to Brian admiring the weapon.
“Oh this is tight right
here. Where did you get this? You must of stole that from Papi, because you are
still sitting on that ounce I gave you three days ago. Slow hustling ass
boy.” Zipp teased.
“I need me a piece
shooter. I want a grenade launcher or some type of military gun. You know like
on those Call of Duty video games.” Brian comments observing the .22 looking through its
chamber. “And you have bullets in this thing too. That’s real hood cousin. I see
you stepping your game up.” He adds aiming the gun towards the window as if he is in the firing
position.
“Brian in the streets you do not have time to play with those big guns. A small gun like these will help you make all the necessary moves you need, to get respect. Mane you need to go to
the gun range to learn how to shoot first though. And get your money up too, then you can get
you an AK or an SK if you want something big. What do you need with a gun like that anyways?” Zipp asks Brian.
“Just in case anyone
tries to run up on Chelsea Avenue talking that shit. Papi said he has some shipment
coming in soon. you know how people want to break in your house when they see
you have something. I have to protect my turf at all times in North Memphis.” Brian answers handing the gun back to Zipp. Zipp puts
Jacob’s gun back in the glove compartment as they make it to their destination.
Cars line down the street confirming the party is at the big white house in the
cove in Cordova.
“Alright fellas that’s
the house right over there. As you can see this girl’s family is loaded. This
house is huge and check out the car in the driveway with the big bow on it.
That must be the birthday gift for Peaches.” Jacob comments pointing ahead. A red Lexus sit in the driveway with a red bow on top. They can see
people walking up to the house chatting, and some walking out with plastic cups
in their hands.
“These girls better not
be all stuck up. Those sorority girls can be prissy. How did you
figure they would be interested in light skinned dudes from the hood? I am so
glad we made this bet. I want to see one of you get a number for one of these
chicks.” Zipp announces grinning. The men exit the car walking towards the
party.
"Ziop you are the only light skinned brother. As long as they don't see you with your pretty eyes and light skinned we will be fine." Jacob joked making Brian laugh. The three men continue on to the party hoping to get lucky for the night. Memphis would be partying hard tonight.
